Fake News is a Path Best Avoided

In my opinion, the truth is always the righteous path to good works.  History has proven that "green eyed monsters" orchestrate stratagems but the smoke always clears uncovering their true intent before it has any tangible effect.

Recruiters probably have one of the toughest occupations in our industry.  They are on the phone all day talking to hundreds of people trying to differentiate one company from the others.  In our business if you exist after 2009, you are probably doing a few things right.

Very few good Originators leave because of a company, they leave to fill a void or a need not being met.  The void could be a breach of trust, health care coverage, pay, an argument, the list is long.  The need not being met by their current company is what recruiters should focus on and like a good originator they just have to uncover the need not being met to close the deal.

The problem with “Fake News” is it eventually makes the person creating it unbelievable and their ability to recruit tougher.  I am sure everyone knows some of the characters in our industry that make outrageous fake statements.  As the target of many “fake statements” over the past 24 years, I learned that “fake statement” purveyors always attack your strengths.

If someone says you are running out of money and you will be out of business next week, you probably bank mid-8 figures in reserves.  If someone says you are a crook, you are probably a trusted fiduciary.  If someone says you are a bully, you probably care deeply about your team’s welfare and protect their livelihood and families from deceptive practices.
History has proven it is always good to be talked about whether good or bad.  If it’s good and truthful the world is working the way it should and good deeds are appreciated, if it’s bad assume the reverse.

I encourage everyone in our small industry to take the high ground and recruit based on need.  Need based selling is more effective with clients and recruits.  It is the righteous sustainable way to effectively accomplish your goals.

Service Matters....

Hello Mr. Haupt,

My name is Letonya Bush and I recently purchased a new home through Southeast Mortgage. My Lender was SEM and although it's been over a month since I closed on my new home, I went online to search for the President of Southeast Mortgage to express my wonderful experience working with SEM.

As you know, securing a mortgage loan and anticipating the purchase of a new home can be very stressful. And although there were many challenges with the builder, the onsite agent and the construction project itself, I can honestly say that I would have decided against new construction had I not had the pleasure of working with SEM. Patience and dedication is inspiring.

SEM treated me as an individual which means more to me than anything. Although this wasn't my first time purchasing a home, in10 years, many things have changed that can actually detour even the most viable candidate from wanting to purchase a home.

From day one of the process, SEM was honest, available and provided feedback even when there weren't any updates just to make me comfortable as that is the type of client I was. Additionally, having started a new job did not make the process any easier to cope with. But SEM took that stress into consideration and provided the type of Customer Service that I would hope is the Standard within your Organization.

I am proud to say that I am the owner of a new home and only because of SEM's diligence and understanding will I not only recommend friends and family to consider new construction, but will only refer them to SEM.

Please forgive the delay in providing feedback as this is customary for me and especially when the service is exceptional. Feel free to contact me either via phone at XXX-XXX-XXXX or  email if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Letonya Bush

SEM the Cat has passed away ....

We are all saddened by the passing of our processing mascot, little buddy, master of pest control, and his last responsibility as Morale Director in Operations.  SEM was also our Twitter spokes CAT on @semkitty www.southeastmortgage.com/twitter .

SEM was a stray full grown cat that hung around our Club Drive Facility in 1998.  He was neutered so he had been with a family prior to becoming a stray.  Over the years, he became more familiar with the people at Club and allowed us to approach and feed him.  SEM was a very good hunter who liked to bring his day's bounty to the door so we could see his skill.

SEM lived in the roof vent on top of Club Drive building A for many years.  A family of raccoons decided they would be better suited to his home and ganged up on SEM causing a serious head wound.  Becky, SEM's keeper and health advisor, always took good care of him.  She rushed SEM to the doctor who advised that he needed to stay inside due to his brain injury.
We converted the 2nd floor of Building A to become his new home where he resided for many years until his death.  Becky would bring him to processing in the morning and take him to his room at night.  In processing he maintained a routine of visiting everyone during the day.  At least twice a day he enjoyed his long walks around our two acre complex remembering his more youthful adventures.  When finished with his walks he would sit on the window sill to be let back in.
SEM will be missed and was a special member of the Southeast Mortgage family.

SEM will be buried this week at Club Drive.
